MODULAR EMPLOYABLE SKILLS (MES) UNDER SKILL DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES SCHEME (SDIS)
Ministry of Labour & Employment undertook development of a new strategic framework for skill development for early school leavers and existing workers , especially in the un-organized sector in close consultation with industry ,micro enterprises in the un-organized sector, State Governments , experts and academia which was essential considering their educational ,social ,and economic background .The main objective of the scheme is to provide employable skills to school leavers ,existing workers ,ITI graduates ,etc. Existing skills of the persons can also be tested and certified under this scheme .Priority will be given to covering those above the age of 14 years who have been or withdrawn as child labour to enable them to learn employable skills in order to get gainful employment.

SCHEME OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT THROUGH POLYTECHNICS (CDTP)
CDTP scheme envisages providing non formal ,short term , employment oriented skill development programmes , through AICTE approved Polytechnics , to various sections of the community , particularly the rural ,unorganized & disadvantaged sections of the society ,to enable them to obtain gainful self /wage employment . Duration of training usually ranges from three to six months . These courses are be offered by the Polytechnics in their premises, as well as through extension centers ,set up in nearby locations ,from where, these courses can be offered to the local community . No fees is charged from the trainees under this scheme and there is no restriction of age and qualification for the trainees.
PROGRAMMES OFFER UNDER CDTP
Government Polytechnic has provisioned programmes under CDTP namely Auto cad, DTP, Tally, Pharmacy Assistant, Facial therapy, Hair therapy , Beauty culture and Hair Dressing and Tailoring.
